Calibration of Bio-medical Equipments

The medical equipment/instrument used in hospitals for monitoring and treatment of patients also require calibration in order to have confidence in their functioning and operation.

The Calibration capabilities of Astute Labs are accredited. The standards maintained are traceable to national standards.

Calibration helps to detect the defective instrument that has failed to output values according to the manufacturer’s standard and international standard baseline readings.

Calibration of Medical Equipment

It’s a set of operations, performed in accordance with a definite documented procedure, that compares the measurements performed by an instrument to those made by a more accurate instrument or standard which maintain traceability, for the purpose of detecting and reporting or eliminating by adjustment, errors in the instrument tested.

It’s used for inspection, measuring, and testing equipment must be traceable to national or international standards. If national or international standards are not practical or available, the manufacturer will use an independent reproducible standard. If no applicable standard exists, the manufacturer will establish and maintain an in-house standard.

Mostly medical equipments are calibrated Annually or Bi-annually.
And also calibrate the equipment before issuing to end user after major service. Some of the equipments requires more frequent calibration.
